DIY Mermaid Hair Spray
Postpartum hair loss is such a raw deal. You spend your pregnancy experiencing discomforts of one type or another, but you have fabulously lush hair and glowing skin. Then after you give birth, and go through the whole sleep deprivation period. Your skin loses its pregnancy glow, your hair starts falling out in huge clumps and you have a serious case of dark under eye circles.
Mother Nature has a cruel sense of humor, doesn’t she? What’s worse is that my doc told me that postpartum hair loss can continue until at least NINE months postpartum. YIKES!
I finally got around to getting a hair appointment scheduled for this week. I went in and asked my stylist for a pixie cut. She shook her head at me and cut off five inches instead. My curls are once again bouncy and mostly cooperative.
She was actually surprised at how much the wee baby hairs on my forehead had grown already. I’ve been using a spray with essential oils to help the new hairs grow in strong and healthy and based on her reaction, I’d say it’s working. And it’s a dead simple recipe.
Recipe: Mermaid Hair Spray for Postpartum Hair Loss
In a spray bottle, drop one drop of each oil for every ounce of volume (mine is a 10oz bottle, so 10 drops of each of the above essential oils). Add a small splash of witch hazel and fill the rest with water.
Shake gently before each use and spray generously on hair, focusing on roots/scalp.
So easy!
I hope you enjoy and let me know how it works for you.
